The District Council has re-issued useful advice on waste that is suitable for recycling, but options are still limited.

Falling Behind


Although recycling has become more important, Newark and Sherwood has failed to keep up.
Ten years ago Liberal Democrat District Councillors convinced the council to introduce Silver Bins, taking the District to 51st in Local Authority rankings. In 2017 the Council has dropped to 303rd, still only managing to recycle around 30 percent of waste material.


Survey Concern


Many survey replies expressed concern about plastic bags and supermarket packaging. It is time our District Council did more to eliminate single use plastic and get recycling back on track. Plastic Bags
