Candidates selected for Bridge By-Election

The Newark Liberal Democrats have select local campaigners Keith Melton and Ryan Cullen to fight the by-election in Bridge Ward.

The by-election will take place on the 1st July after the resignation of two independents.

Keith Melton Ryan Cullen

Keith Melton has lived in the Newark area since 1974 and was the founding Director of the Institute for Sustainable Development in Business at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) from 1998 to 2006.

Keith is also Chair of the Green Liberal Democrats, which is the environmental pressure group within the Liberal Democrats. He has been active on environmental issues for 50 years this year.

Ryan Cullen has lived in Newark for the last four years, having worked on Brunel Drive at Vodafone and Timico for over a decade.

Ryan is a Parish Councillor on Fernwood Parish Council with responsibilities for planning issues. He has a 100% record of attendance at Parish council meetings!

When, previously, he lived in Lincoln with his young family he was on Lincoln City Council and served as a Governor of his local Primary School.
