David Watts is our Parliamentary Spokesperson and Prospective Parliamentary Candidate. David was born in Batley, Yorkshire, in 1966 and grew up in Yorkshire and in Malawi, Central Africa.

He is a practising solicitor and hold degrees from Huddersfield and Leicester University. He moved to Nottinghamshire at the start of 1997 and has lived here ever since.

David first became a local councillor in 1999 and carried on in that role until 2015. He was re-elected to his local council after a four year break in May 2019 where he is now the Deputy Leader of the Lib Dem group. David is also a member of the Green Liberal Democrats, an active campaigning group within the party to ensure that environmental issues are always given top consideration.

Away from work David is a keen musician, playing the guitar and piano and is a fan of most sports, especially football and motor racing.

David is married to Gill and they have two teenage daughters and a variety of pets.
